No More competition

So I am not longer competing in oct/nov. :( I am kinda bummed out about it, but also relieved, because I know I wouldnt have been able to give it the 100% that I needed to. I am doing a photoshoot or two in the upcoming months, so I still have something to work towards!

It is really hard being a fitness professional and having others look up to you for motivation, and it makes me feel bad inside not being able to show that I can do the competition. But I know that doing a show isn't everything in the world, and there is MANY more shows to come (and muscle to be built in the meantime!!!)

There is some other things I want to try besides weight training. I used to enjoy doing yoga and would like to get back into to it to help with stress. Not sure what else, but really now is the time to try new things!

Now that I have more time not spent doing cardio, hopefully I can update my blogmore often (and I am also posting the link on my flyer to advertise my training services, so I better have something for people to read!)

Weekly Motivation

My friend had emailed this to me years ago, and I kept it in my inbox to re-read, and happened to stumble on it today.

45 Life Lessons

Was written By Regina Brett of The PlainDealer, Cleveland, Ohio. To celebrate growing older she once wrote 'The 45 Lessons Life Taught Me'.

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It 's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is upto you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will, stay in touch.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift

Sicktember

It seems like every September, I get sick after my bday! I have decided that bdays cause me unwanted stress and my body is rejecting the idea of getting older. So it has been decided, I will stay 26 for awhile (that is how it works right? you stay in your 20's until you get to an age where you are comfortable with things, then start annoucing it again?)

So being sick definately put a damper on my training as well as things at work. How do you keep up with lifes demands, especially when you body is telling you to STOP and what you really need is some rest? I definately took time off work and took naps everyday. I would not say I am 100% yet, but am going to venture out for some hot yoga today. Hopefully I can make this a weekly occurance, as I know in the past it has helped me with stress.

What are you best stress relieveing techniques?

Updated results

Hey guys,

So I found the lost post from the other day (there will be a lot of mistakes and craziness the next few weeks), it should be posted now. Here are my updated results as promised! I will compare the start to now.

Start/ Current/ Difference

Weight: 148.8/ 137.4/ -11.4

Body Fat : 22%/ 20.7 /-1.3

Fat Mass : 32 lbs/ 28.4 /-3.6

Fat Free Mass: 116 /109/ -7

Total Body Water: 85 lbs /79/ -6

Measurements (in inches):

Arm R: 12/11.5 /-.5

Chest: 33 /32.5 /-.5

Butt:40 /39/ -1

Thigh R: 24/ 23.5/ -.5

what should my next post be about? more about fat loss? motivation? Nutrition? let me know!

5 weeks until competition

Ok, So there is officially 5 weeks until the UFE Halloween Mayhem. (4 weeks of prep left). I may use either coutdown, in my head I am counting down 4 week, because if I am not ready by then, there is nothing that can be done that last week. (The last week is reserved for depletion, which is a whole otherpost in itself)

We did my measurements and I am down in MANY areas. YAY! My butt is the MOST stubborn (as is anyones). I left those numbers at work, but they will be up here tmr.

The fat cells in your butt is actually different then the fat, say, in your stomach. The fat calls in your butt have more alpha receptors as opposed to beta receptors (which will more readily be burned off). Beta cells are found in higher numbers in women expecially the lower body region and don't like to let themselves go. Isn't that great? :P

This weekend I definately need to take it easy. I want to get my groceries and cook some good food (as good as pre contest food can be!), watch missed episodes of True Blood and Jersey Shore.

The next four week are going to be very difficult. As anyone does, motivation will be needed daily. As silly as it sounds, I am going to print off little reminders to myself why I am doing all this and post some pics of people who motivate me or of myself when I felt AMAZING!

Off to work I go, and will have my updated results posted today or tmr.

Found this...

and had to post it!

"Discipline is the art of merging motivation with organization. You aren't disciplined unless you're dedicated to something. And you cannot be dedicated to something unless you WANT it. Before you strive to "learn discipline", first figure out what you want."

What do YOU want?
